After a little bit of paint, the dollhouse was touched up. Here is a look at the finished dollhouse.
Side view
Top rooms - the servant's quarters, hallway (and bathing tub).
This servant's room is very plain, with simple pine furniture.
The hallway has a bathtub and privacy screen. I made soap, soap holder and little cloth.
The last servant's room is a little more luxurious, and the bed probably is more comfy too!
The second level houses the home owner's bedrooms. The rugs are bigger, the beds are of high quality, the furniture is made with quality. Cats, at that time, were probably not allowed in the bedroom, but I couldn't resist. Could you imagine sleeping late in bed, and your servant tries to light your fire for you discreetly? The bedspread is a lovely tatted piece, not something you often see.
The second floor stairwell houses a desk , a hutch, and a corner shelf. The stairs are just lovely, and look like they will stand the test of time.
The other bedroom, in a more feminine theme. The hooked rug matches well and this bedroom has a lovely fireplace, more luxury than any other room.
The last second floor room is part of the establishment. I imagine it is for "borders" that had imbibed too much at The Stopping Place Pub below. The mattresses were hand made, as was the bedding and pillows.
The first floor - This first room is the dining room. It is not too far from the kitchen, but far enough away that the sounds and smells are not detectable in the dining room. The chandeliers here add to the richness and would have amazed guests. The scene set up today is breakfast for 2.
The first floor stairwell and hallway has the front door as well. I put a fancy table in the hallway to impress any visitors. There is also a lovely grandfather clock in the nook by the door and behind the stairs.
The kitchen is a busy place as it not only serves the owners, but will also serve soup, bread and stew to the Pub's patrons. There is an icebox, a stove, and a hand pump for water. Some goodies were being made, a pie and some cookies.
The last room is The Stopping Place and the business of this house. It has quite rich furnishings. It has a piano, fireplace, gaming tables, and the most elegant Demi cabinet or hutch to store drinks and glasswear. All that needs in this room is a coat and hat rack, and it will be complete!
Well. I hope you enjoyed this dollhouse tour.
