What an overthought! Of course there must be Scabbers the rat's cage. Luckily enough, there were these little wood tiles in my wood supplies that are just the right size for the base and top of the cage. All that had to be purchased for the project was a small length of a square piece of wood. Pins were used for the cage part, glued in with E 6000 and painted grey. Putting a hinge for the door was my first idea, but then i realized that a little bit of silver duct tape would suffice. The top leather handle was a leftover from making the trunks. The beige inner liner helps keep in the pins and will look good with a straw bed. the liner is a dollar store find that is supposed to make baskets.
All that's left is a little straw!
