With Harry's trunk I plan to have all the items on his school supplies list, plus some clothes. Know where I can get miniature socks?!
Wands, books, clothing, crystal ball, letter from Hogwarts, cauldron, Just a few things that will be stuffed into the trunks. So far i have a crystal ball from Michaels sold as a charm, wands that i got on aliexpress.com that are sold as miniature chopsticks, and homemade books. I have painstakingly knitted one miniature sweater with toothpicks for knitting needles. Two folded shirts and ties i got from banggood. Leather straps with rings on them will serve as belts for pants. I will have to find some scraps of fabric to sew clothes. Hopefully my mom has some, and that will prevent me from going to the fabric store and spending all my mad money. In my miniature collection I found a telescope. The acceptance letter will be nice to have as well. Here is a small sampling of things to go in the trunks.
We must assume that the trunks are magical, and have an extension charm on them, as there's no way to fit all the items in it!

Hogwarts Express miniature part 2 trolley and candy Harry Potter
The Harry Potter books are fascinating and since I love miniatures, decided to make a miniature of the Hogwarts Express, depicting Harry's very first train ride to Hogwarts School. Looking at the screenshots of the movie, it shows the candy trolley has 2 orange boxes with labels and taps on them. So i am assuming they are drink containers. The drinks I chose are Pumpkin Juice and Hot Chocolate. I used my silhouette Cameo to cut out a box template.
The candy trolley, in the first movie, was brown. I found 2 but they were too small. So my decision is to modify the biggest one by adding an extra shelf, and putting miniature wheels on the bottom so it will move like the real thing. wish me good luck on gluing it and matching the colour.
Here are a few more boxes to put on the trolley.
Here are a few items that could be used for the trolley.
Simple candy wrappers (foil) balled up to look like candies and put in a corner of a sandwich bag, and tied off.
some lollipops purchased from banggood. might glaze them over to look super shiny and sweet
Glitter confetti in a corner of a bag that will be tied up with a tiny twist tie. The little plastic pieces i got from a miniature candy bag at Michaels that i took apart.
These are clay balls i made that will be put in a row and encased in plastic just like in the movie. Also, I used the heads of pins for one of them as well.
Liquorice wands made with polymer clay. I think I'll make red ones as well.
Making the lollipop stand that goes on the candy trolley. Just used scraps of wood and sequin pins (with the heads cut off). I drilled tiny holes at an angle for the pins. Tried a few different types of glue, but wood glue worked best. It needs to be painted with brown acrylic paint.
Adding polymer clay balls for the lollipops. I actually baked them with the stand so they will adhere to the pins. It is quite safe as the oven temp is very low, and only in for 5 minutes.
On to cauldron cakes. there were lots of interpretations online, so i chose to make a chocolate one, and a dark chocolate black one.
Today I finally put all the elements together for the trolley. It was hard for me to glue it down, but they would fall off if i don't.
Here is the view from the back of the trolley.
Stay tuned for more!
the boxes were easy to fold, but hard to glue! the labels are from online and the faucets are from aliexpress. The faucets had to be modified, but since they are plastic, were easy to cut.
Painting the trolley brown as it appears in the first movie.
The candy for the trolley is taking a lot of time, but it is fun to hunt down the images online so the boxes and wrappers can be made. Cutting and folding the boxes were fun. Gluing, not so much!
Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans box was easy to find online and reduce in size. The beans are polymer clay. I spent a day using every colour of clay that i have, and mixing even more colours and making beans for the box.The best part is my Mom bought me a miniature mouse for Christmas that hopefully will look good with a box of Bertie Bottse Every Flavour Beans on it's head, and it will look like Scabbers the rat eating jelly beans. Here are a few more boxes to put on the trolley.
Chocolate frogs turned out to be quite challenging, after making a nice one out of clay, it was determined that it would be too hard to make one small enough. But alas, I had a lightbulb moment. Using model enamel on tiny frog earings that were found at the thrift store and bought on banggood and aliexpress. All that is left is to cut off the earing posts. Now there are some cute chocolate frogs for my chocolate frog boxes.
I had a hard time putting together the chocolate frog boxes. tweezers are your friend when working with miniatures. Here are a few items that could be used for the trolley.

It looks good, but when it is put on the trolley, it takes up too much space. So I will try again, by angling the pins differently.
My stand redone with the clay "candy". Still have to paint the rest of the stand brown. After it dries i will glue the orange candy on each stick.
After trying my lollipop stand on the trolley, and it wouldn't fit with all the other candy! So now on to the 3rd try. sigh. This one will be taller.
Pumpkin pasties! Imagine individual pumpkin pies. Here is a picture of how it was made with polymer clay. Hope they look like little pumpkins. The oustide clay is made with a pastry colour, rolled out and cut so when folded will look like a pumpkin. The inside is hopefully a pumpkin colour, and will just peek out a little thru the pastry cut marks, which also kind of makes a face. Using an old toothbrush to texture the pastry will give it a more realistic look. After baking, a little glaze is applied.
